Counselling is a process of talking and listening to help resolve emotional issues and difficulties.
Our counsellors will help you to explore these emotions. Being able to talk about your feelings, thoughts and behaviours without criticism or being judged can be a great comfort and relief.
This is all done in a supportive, non-threatening and confidential way to open up a way forward to a better life.
People who seek counselling are not always sure what to expect
Here are some key things to consider:
• Your first session is a way to establish the background to your issues. Ask any questions worrying you.
• Sessions are normally face to face and the number can vary depending upon the support needed. You can stop anytime.
• Most sessions are up to an hour duration
• You work together to find a way forward rather than being given “answers”
• Sessions are totally confidential
